Yonsei University had 88 successful candidates in the 50th Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam held in 2015, firmly holding onto its first place among Korean universities in the production of CPAs.

A total of 2,837 candidates took the exam in the 2015 test period, with 917 successful candidates. With the exam becoming more difficult year by year, with a pass rate of 32.3% this year, examinees from Yonsei University accounted for 9.5% of the total number of successful CPA candidates.

Yonsei University has produced 2,746 CPA candidates since 1992; with two exceptions, it has had the highest number of successful candidates every year since 2005. Yonsei University’s accumulated number of 568 successful CPA candidates over the past five years outstrips Korea University and Sung Kyun Kwan University. Those universities were second and third with 536 and 393 successful candidates, respectively. Yonsei University’s is expected to continue to hold onto its first place position.

The results above are based on the 2015 list of 917 successful CPA candidates announced in August by the Financial Services Commission.
