Professor Donghoon Kim Appointed as New Dean

Professor Donghoon KimProfessor Donghoon Kim of Marketing has been appointed as of Feb. 1, 2015, to a two-year term as dean of the Yonsei School of Business.

In taking office, Dean Kim said he feels “great pressure and responsibility in taking this position in this meaningful year in which the Yonsei School of Business is celebrating its 100th anniversary.” As we begin our second century, it is imperative that we take both education and research to a higher level. With these goals in mind, I will do my utmost to further the vision of a global Yonsei School of Business that contributes to the betterment of the world.”

The new dean completed his Bachelor of Business Administration at Yonsei University and received his MBA and Ph.D. at Columbia University in the U.S. He was an assistant professor at the State University of New Work at Buffalo before he joined the Yonsei School of Business in 1994. In addition to his teaching and research duties, he has served as vice president of both the Office of External Affairs and Development and the Office of International Affairs at Yonsei University.

Yonsei University introduced business education into Korea in 1915. In marking its centennial this year, the Yonsei School of Business will celebrate its past as its plans for an even greater future. As part of that preparation, the school will move in August into a new building fully equipped with the latest IT infrastructure and software.
