Numerous officials and students attended the opening ceremony on October 15 for the Yonsei School of Business’ Career Development Center. The ceremony in the atrium of the YSB building was hosted by Jaehoon Hahn, YSB associate dean.

Kil-Soo Suh, dean of the school, said, "I felt the need for a career development center as I have heard from students that their career path is their biggest concern." He said that he expects the Career Development Center to provide practical help to students.

Yong-Ho Kim, president for Student Affairs & Services at Yonsei University, said, "We should not have jobs for the sake of having a job. Rather, we should explore our personalities and aptitudes as early as the freshman year to develop career paths. We hope that, starting with the School of Business, career development support will spread to other colleges."

"We need a lot of help because many of our Global MBA students want to work in Korea," said Allyce Best, president of the Global MBA Class of 2020 Graduates. "The establishment of the YSB Career Development Center is very encouraging" she said before thanking the school for setting up the Career Development Center.

Kangwook Lee, who will meet and consult with students as a staff member of the new center, said during the introduction, "When I came to the school of business, I found out that the need for students' employment and career development was high. We are going to provide the services that students need, so I hope students can use them easily."

Then students wrote down their hopes for the Career Development Center and their anticipated career paths on small pieces of paper, and hung them on a “wish tree.” After the opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony, attendees toured the newly renovated Career Development Center in Room 108 of the Business Building.

The Career Development Center will provide individual services for YSB students and help them achieve successful career development through numerous services, including writing job applications and curriculum vitae, career development consulting, and mock interviews.
