The YSB graduated 528 students on February 26 in its 100^th graduation ceremony since 1919. In this year’s ceremony degrees were conferred on 10 Ph.D. students, 35 M.S. students, 206 MBA students, and 277 B.B.A students.

Ted Chung, vice chairman and CEO of Hyundai Card, Hyundai Capital, and Hyundai Commercial, gave the commencement speech. Kyung-Bae Suh, president of the YSB alumni association, and Dong Joon Rhee, president of the YSB MBA program, also participated in the ceremony.

In his commencement speech, Ted Chung said, "You do not have to understand everything about the study of business itself, because the study of business is only a small part of business as a whole. The paths to success today are far more diverse than in the past. This implies that an elitist way of thinking does not guarantee you success anymore." He also added, "It is our incompleteness that makes us competitive and different from others. Understand yourself and accept yourself. The last step is to motivate yourself."

The YSB graduation ceremony has special features. First, renowned business leaders are invited to deliver congratulatory remarks to the graduates. Their remarks are followed by a valedictory speech from a student. Another special event is the presentation of class gifts from alumni to the graduates as a class and a similar group gift from the graduates to the entering freshman class. Before the graduation ceremony, graduating students donate money to toward the gift to welcome freshmen.

Associate dean of the YSB MBA program, Il Im, academic program chair Jai Yeol Son, and associate dean of the YSB undergraduate program Daesik Hur called each student to the podium, where the students shook hands with the faculty and invited guests and expressed their gratitude to their teachers.
