Management Professor Hyuntak Roh’s article on “When can women close the gap? A meta-analytic test of sex differences in performance and rewards” has been published in the Academy of Management Journal, which is published by the Academy of Management in the United States and considered one of the most prestigious journals in business.

Professor Roh’s paper theoretically and empirically tested whether significant differences actually exist between genders in performance evaluations and rewards, and if so, whether occupation-, industry-, and job-level factors mitigate or exacerbate the differences. A meta-analysis was conducted for empirical testing, based on empirical research over 30 years and 190 samples in business, psychology, and sociology.

“Diversity and equity are emerging as major issues in Korean society and organizations recently, and the need for research concerning these issues is rising. I hope to conduct meaningful and interesting research on these issues with our students and publish them in major academic journals,” Professor Roh said.
