Professor Seunghyun Kim of Information Systems has been awarded the 2015 Choheun Academic Prize, an annual award to a professor for the most outstanding research achievements. It is given by the alumni association of the College of Business & Economics and was established in 2003 by Kumbi Corporation President Byungheun Ko (entering class of 1964, Business) when he was president of the alumni association.

“It has been just over a year since I joined the Yonsei School of Business,” Professor Kim noted in his acceptance speech. “It is a great honor to receive such a big award, and I really appreciate it. I will strive to research and contribute to the school and live up to the reputation of the Choheun Academic Prize.”

He is one of the highest achieving professors worldwide in the Management Information Systems field. Since 2011, he has published or confirmed publication of five articles in the most prestigious MIS journals, MIS Quarterly and Information Systems Research.. His article in Information Systems Research in 2011 was recognized as the runner-up for the Best Research-in-Progress Award for that year out of all articles published in that journal. And his paper presented in December 2014 at the prestigious International Conference on Information Systems was runner-up for the Best Research-in-Progress Paper Award.
