Professor Jiyoon Lee of Finance has joined the YSB faculty as of the second semester of 2020. She is the tenth woman on the faculty, which now has the highest number and percentage of female professors among major business schools in Korea.
Lee received her Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign after receiving her bachelor's and master's degrees in Business Administration at Yonsei University. Before her appointment at YSB, she was an assistant professor at George Washington University for five years.
"I applied as a professor at YSB,” she said, “because I wanted to learn from excellent professors and interact with outstanding students," adding, "I will learn a lot from senior professors and actively cooperate with students so that YSB can further develop."
Although it is still the beginning of the semester and her first class was an online lecture, Professor Lee was satisfied, saying, "As expected, the students are excellent and were very active in participating in the class."
Female professors have been on the YSB faculty since 2004, starting with Professor Eun Mi Chang of Management.
