Professor Moowon Rhee appointed Underwood Distinguished Professor

Professor Mooweon Rhee of Management has become the first professor in Yonsei School of Business to be named to a three-year term as Yonsei University’s Underwood Distinguished Professor. Yonsei University selects for the position faculty members with outstanding research accomplishments who can contribute to the development of the university and grants them financial and nonfinancial incentives for research during their three years in the position.The position was established in 2007 and is named in honor of the university’s founder.

 

Professor Mooweon Rhee has published 33 articles, including nine ranked in the top 45 journals by the Financial Times and has received Best Paper recognition from the most prestigious U.S academic society and journal. His research network is also very active. He is currently affiliated as senior editor of Management and Organization Review and is an international research fellow in the Saïd Business School of the University of Oxford.

 

His research achievements were acknowledged in his selection as a “Rising Star” of the year by the Western Academy of Management in 2009, an International Academic Award from the Korean Academy of Management and recognition at the University of Hawaii where he was on the faculty before joining Yonsei University.

 

Professor Rhee received his doctoral degree at Stanford University after graduating from Yonsei University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He joined Yonsei University’s faculty in September 2013 after nine years as a professor at the University of Hawaii.
